Since the group was founded, VRS has been a key partner in the biggest development projects in Norway.
In the period 2007-2010, VRS has supplied electrical personnel for both the Ormen Lange and Snøhvit gas fields. At Snøhvit, VRS supplied around 180 personnel hires, and we are proud to have contributed to a new chapter in the Norwegian oil industry. In the oil and gas sectors, we have also supplied manpower for Kollsnes, Mongstad and the Stord supply industry.
VRS is a leading operator in personnel hires for building & construction projects. When the new Oslo Opera House was built, we were one of the main suppliers of electrical manning right through to completion of this national landmark building in 2008. VRS takes great pride in its involvement in this prestigious project.
Other high-profile construction projects in which VRS participated include the University Hospital in Akershus, where 120 personnel from VRS were on hire for the entire construction phase. When the new Post Terminal at Lørenskog opened in 2010, some 90 fitters from VRS had been contracted for all the electrical work.
Over the years, VRS has been associated with a diverse range of projects. These include Rikshospitalet University Hospital in Oslo, the Norwegian Radium Hospital (largest cancer centre in Northern Europe), the Arctic Culture Centre in Hammersfest, the Renewable Energy Cooperation (REC) wafer plant at Herøya (all Norway) and nuclear power plants in Sweden.
VRS Rail also contributes to our growing capabilities in a wide range of tramway, metro and railway projects.
